Well it all actually happened, wasn’t a dream or a figment of our imaginations, we’re actually here. Feel as though we’re on another planet though, not just another country!!!
The flight from Sydney to Singapore on Thursday 26th April was actually not too bad. The kids were excited, it was a whole new novelty for them. Even something as simple as the Spongebob colouring in books and crayons kept them all occupied for the first hour. Then the novelties kept coming, movies and video games on their own personal little tv screens, meals then served on individual trays – the food didn’t go down all that well but all the snacks and treats were a hit, the toilet was a whole other sort of novelty, I won’t even go there!!! Towards the end of the flight Harry and Laura were happy just to sit and watch the ‘flight path screen’!!! It helped that this wasn’t a full flight and kids each pretty much had 2 seats to themselves to lay accross and have a half decent sleep which quickened the 8 hours in the air…
Singapore was humid, although lovely. Made it to hotel with all our luggage packed quite precariously at the front of the little minivan in the order that passengers would be disembarking….. Stayed at the Miramar, very nice, Harry enjoyed licking the mirror walls in the lobby and breathing air onto and talking to his reflection, he certainly is in a world of his own.
We decided to spend the afternoon in just winding down and finding our feet. Ordered in room service, kids loved that. Sean and I helped ourselves to a couple of well deserved beers in the minibar…
Stay tuned for when Sean makes a geneaology discovery at the Singapore Zoo…………..
